A large FREE parking area for cars and buses is available for visitors at the park entrance and near the garden centre. During the spring exhibition and other major events, when a high number of visitors is expected, additional parking areas are provided. Overnight parking is not permitted.
ARRIVAL BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT
A regional bus runs between Ljubljana and Kamnik, stopping several times a day at the Volčji Potok Šraj bus stop, about 300 metres from the park entrance, and more frequently at the stop in Radomlje, about 1.5 km from the park. The timetable for the Ljubljana–Volčji Potok–Ljubljana bus line can be found HERE.
The nearest railway stop is Homec, approximately 2 km from the park. The walking path to the Arboretum leads along the northern slope of Homški hrib hill and crosses a pedestrian bridge over the Kamniška Bistrica River. If you would like to take your bicycle on the train, you can find more information HERE.
ARRIVAL BY BICYCLE
In the nearby historic town of Kamnik, about 7 km from Arboretum Volčji Potok, you can rent a bicycle through the KAMKOLO bike sharing system. One of the stations with a charging point is also located at Arboretum Volčji Potok, at the entrance to the Garden shop, making the Arboretum a convenient point for arrival or for continuing your cycling trip. Users register, log in and pay the membership fee for the KAMKOLO system through the MICycle app, which is available for Android and iOS. Information about bicycle rental is available at the Kamnik Tourist Information Centre at Glavni trg 2 and on the KAMKOLO website, where instructions for using the system are provided.
The Arboretum can also be reached from Ljubljana via the Ljubljana–Kamnik cycling route. More information about the route is available HERE, where you can also download the GPX file.
Kamnik and Domžale are connected by a walking and cycling path along the Kamniška Bistrica River, which passes by the Arboretum.
